The Lie: 2nd Reflection

A friend tested my recollection over her lunchbreak today - I think the people at the next table were impressed - or they were sneering at me being a pretentious know-it-all! If I can keep “the” and “a” straight, and remember when things are singular or plural, then I’ll be doing well.

The technicalities are tricking me today. I am glad that so far I am managing to be patient with myself when I make mistakes - something I’m not so sure I did when I used to have to learn things for school work. (Maturity does bring benefits it turns out!)

The lines I agree with are also much easier to remember than the lines I don’t. I hope I don’t recall all things in this way, as it may explain the view I have of the world!

The Lie: Successfully remembered one poem - so proud!

I’ve really enjoyed developing a close relationship with the words of this poem. It’s become so personal and familiar over the past days, and has made me realise how much I rush all the time, missing the enjoyment that comes from taking time to notice more than just what’s on the top layer.
